Franskraalstrand is a small seaside village along the southern coast of the Western Cape, near the town of Gansbaai. It lies on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean within the Overberg region and is part of the Cape Agulhas coastal belt. The village is accessible via the R43 regional route connecting Gansbaai and De Kelders. The surrounding area features sandy beaches, coastal fynbos, and scenic cliffs typical of this stretch of the Western Cape coastline.

History of Franskraalstrand

This beautiful village is on the shore near Gansbaai. The beach stretches all the way from Kleinbaai to the main beach at Gansbaai at the outlet of the Uilenkraalsmond estuary. It was named after Frans, who was a shepherd working for Piet van de Byl, a landowner in the area during the 1930s.
