Fisherhaven is a suburb of Hermanus which was established on the Afdaksrivier farm first recorded in 1754. Fisherhaven is close to the Bot Rivier lagoon and it is within the abundant Cape Fynbos floral kingdom. The area is also well known for bird watching and whale watching. The local lagoon is a popular watersports venue. A few of the horses from the Bot Rivier herd have chosen Fisherhaven as their home.
Squadron 262 of the Royal Air Force established a diversion base at the lagoon during World War ll. Consolidated Catalina flying boats were operated from the area
