Glentana is a small village on the Indian Ocean coastline just southwest of George. It was established in the early 1900s when the first houses were built. The wreck of the steamer ship the Baralong, which ran aground during a towing operation in 1902 sits today off the Glentana coast. Now it is a 123m floating dock weighing 4500 tons.
