Dana Baai or Dana Bay is basically a suburb of Mossel Bay. However, it is a conservancy, set in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom. It began in 1821 as a farm for grazing animals, it is a great destination in Mossel Bay where animals have the right of way. Buildings and town planning have been designed around the movement of animals and the dispersion of Fynbos seeds. Conservation here is paramount and residents and visitors are requested to take extra care driving in the area.
Animals there, include mongooses, bushbuck, and mountain tortoises, as well as a wonderful range of birds. There is also an interesting museum to see.
