Montague Gardens was named after John Montagu, who was Colonial Secretary at the Cape from 1843 to 1853. Montagu played a significant role in developing infrastructure in the Cape Colony, including roads and other public works. This is a sought-after modern industrial area with good infrastructure. It is conveniently located near the seaport, the airport, rail infrastructure, and the road network.
