The Koggelberg Dam

Dam near Grabouw

The Koggelberg Dam is a combined gravity & arch-type dam on the Palmiet River, near Grabouw,  It was established in 1986 for the purposes of irrigation and industrial use. The height of the wall is 52 m and it is 850m wide. The total capacity of the dam is 19 300 000 m³.   The dam covers 155 ha, and the catchment area is 179km2
