The SAPS museum was planned and established in the mid-eighties. The old police station and the adjoining magistrate’s court were used to accommodate the museum. Captain J Schreuder was chosen to collect historical articles and to fill the museum with the cooperation of the Pretoria police museum. The museum was officially opened in June 1990.
