The Durbanville Wine Valley is one of the Western Cape’s oldest wine-producing regions, with a winemaking history dating back to 1698. Situated on the northern outskirts of Cape Town, the area benefits from cooling Atlantic Ocean breezes and fertile soils that help produce fresh, balanced wines. Durbanville is particularly known for Sauvignon Blanc, although many estates also produce excellent Pinotage, Shiraz, Chardonnay and red blends.
The valley is home to a variety of wine farms, ranging from historic estates to modern boutique wineries. Many offer wine tastings, restaurants, cellar tours, accommodation and family-friendly activities.
