UCT Little theatre
The Little Theatre Complex, established in 1931, houses three theatres on the University of Cape Town’s Hiddingh campus on Orange Street, Cape Town. The largest, the Little Theatre, seats 240 people. The Arena and Intimate theatres accommodate 70–80 guests each. The complex is next to UCT’s fine arts and drama departments. It has come a long way since its bginnings, capturing the hearts and minds of audiences across generations of South Africa’s colourful history.
Visitors and staff who remain in this building late at night often hear someone playing the piano. It could be the ghost of an actress who died in the “Green room”
The caretaker of the theatre tells of being shoved aside while painting scenery. He speculates it could be the ghost of Cecil who was a meticulous scene painter who insists on perfection from beyond the grave.
