The Old Tannery

The Old Tannery dates back to 1871. It is one of the oldest factories in South Africa.

A project to restore and develop the spaces has been undertaken. Some of the buildings have been converted into office accommodation There are spaces that have been carefully refurbished and are interesting venues for weddings and other events.

Currently, the building accommodates designers, artisans and other creatives

As this is a heritage building the restoration has been done according to current guidelines and regulations.

Businesses operating here are the Garagista Beer Company, the Old Johannesburg Warehouse Auctioneers, Hemelnektar, The Classic Car café and the Old Tannery Coffee Shop.
