The Genadendal Hiking Trail
The Genadendal Hiking Trail is a circular route over 2 days through private land and the conservation area in the Riviersonderend Mountains. It begins and ends in Genadendal at the 1738 Moravian Mission Church it winds up the mountains, through a farm, where you stay overnight and then back down the next day. Enjoy views of the Overberg and the Karoo landscape around Worcester and Robertson. You will need to be quite fit and well-equipped. It can be very hot in summer and it is wise to carry enough water. There are natural rock pools to cool off in the hot summer months but extreme winter conditions. are not conducive to hiking.
