Riviersonderend Nature Reserve
Riviersonderend Nature Reserve consists of 69,000 hectares of state land and private property which together have been declared as a mountain catchment area. This area supplies the greater Cape Town metro with water. The area is rugged, and you will find rivers, gorges, and forested kloofs. There are some wonderful hikes in the reserve.
The area is covered with mountain fynbos, there are examples of ericas and proteas. that encourage sugarbirds and sunbirds. The water courses are lined with wild almond trees and stream cone bushes.

Leopard tracks have been spotted in the sand, and scratch marks can sometimes be seen on the trunks of Waboom trees
