Meerendal Wine Estate
Meerendal wine estate dates back to 1702 when Governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel granted the farm to Jan Meerland. Privately owned since 2004, Meerendal Wine Estate has been developing into one of South Africa’s top wine estates. The unique location and terroir of Meerendal in one of the coolest wine regions in the Western Cape, with its cool sea breezes from the Atlantic Ocean, is ideal for a variety of noble cultivars. The high quality of Shiraz, Pinotage, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes produced, together with modern cellar techniques, ensure fine Meerendal wines of excellent quality.
