Maidens Cove,
Maidens Cove has two tidal pools hidden between enormous granite boulders in the shadow of Lions Head. It’s a popular spot for sundowners, to see stunning blazing sunsets as the sun dips below the Atlantic horizon. Maidens Cove was one of the few multiracial beaches before 1994.
Entry is free, but the site fills up quickly on sunny weekends, so arrive early to secure your place. This municipal picnic ground offers grassy lawns and built-in braai spots at the grassy recreational area between Clifton and Glen Beach. The braai spots need to be booked, so you need to reserve your space first.
