Die Poort tidal pool
Die Poort tidal pool is ideal for sea swimmers who enjoy calmer water. Formed between two parallel rock formations that extend into the ocean, this natural tidal pool creates a sheltered and distinctive swimming spot.
Located in the Mossel Bay Municipality, Die Poort offers a scenic setting for swimming and relaxing. Chains and ropes are fixed along the rocks to assist swimmers, especially during high tide when strong swells can push waves up to a metre high. At the upper end of the pool, a diving board overlooks deep water surrounded by rocky outcrops.
The pool is best enjoyed at low tide, when conditions are calmer and safer. Extra care is needed during high tide, as the water can become rough and unpredictable
