CJ Langenhoven museum in his house, called Arbeidsgenot, was turned into a museum in 1955. This was to commemorate the life of Cornelis Jacobus Langenhoven, and his contribution to South Africa. The museum is preserved just as it was at his death and offers an immersive experience that provides insight into his upbringing, education, political involvement, and literary achievements. Langenhoven was one of the people promoting the Afrikaans language, making it officially acceptable and is also the creator of the South African National Anthem. The museum/ residence is also where he was buried in 1932.
