Blombos Trail or Cape Clawless Otter route
The Blombos trail or Cape Clawless Otter route is one of six trails you can choose from in the Goukamma Nature Reserve. There are also three Blombos trails, a short one, a medium and a slightly longer route. The trails are fairly easy and popular with bird watchers.

The trail takes in views of the ocean, fynbos, and long beach stretches. The three trails begin at the reserve’s second entrance (Groenvlei turn-off), taking you almost immediately across the large dune visible from the N2. You will need a hiking permit from the reserve. Dogs are also able to use this trail, but must be kept on a leash.
