Tokai forest
In Tokai Forest. The tall trails that wind through the trees in dappled shade are all part of the greater Table Mountain National Park. At the base of Tokai Forest,is the Tokai Arboretum. There are picnic spots with designated braai areas and picnic tables, open grassy patches, and plenty of shade. Fires are allowed only in the built braai pits. Sections may close during high fire-risk periods. There is a lot of parking close to the braai areas. Be aware that Chacma baboons sometimes disturb the party, looking for food. Do not feed them. No alcohol is permitted, and the picnic area is open between 9.00 and 16.00. There are also mountain bike trails and hiking trails in the forest, and there is a tea garden. Self-catering accommodation can be found at the Tokai Arboretum..
