The Afrikaans Language Museum
The Afrikaans Language Museum is an exhibition showing the roots, variants and expressions of Afrikaans. There is an exciting, interactive introduction to the language and the people who speak it.
The museum is in the original house of Gideon Malherbe, the space is furnished with original furniture from the 19th century.
Free, guided and bilingual tours can be organised from Monday to Friday; weekends and public holidays only if pre-booked for a minimum of 20 people.
Free information brochures (in 22 languages) are available. Audio tours in Afrikaans, Xhosa, English, French, Dutch and German are also available. There is also a braille version.Â
