McGregor Saturday market
The McGregor Saturday market is held from 9 am to 11 am. It is an outdoor market partly under the cover of trees. Villagers do their weekly shopping here. Some of the stock favourites sell out in minutes, so get there early. You’ll find Janet’s famous chicken pies, SY’s rosti breakfast, as well as Farmer Judy’s fresh vegetables. There is Fabulous Fudge, hand-spun knitting yarn, curated pre-loved garments, and Fiona’s famous chicken liver pâté and marmalades, as well as Trish and Oona’s pretty pottery. The piéce de resistance are Barbie and Bertus’s Brakkie Happies (dog treats), which, by all accounts, are totally addictive.
The market also pops up when there are events in the village. When it rains, the market’s location moves.
