The Brass Bell

Restaurant and pub in Kalk Bay
021 788 5455 info@brassbell.co.za

The original upstairs area of the Brass Bell which is now called the Main restaurant, was opened in 1939 as the European Pavilion Tea Room. Today’s downstairs area then housed the council’s change rooms for the tidal pools. With beautiful Oregon pine tables, the scene is warm and inviting and built for comfort and ultimate relaxation. The restaurant is the perfect viewing station to absorb False Bay’s panoramic water world. From here, you can see past Seal Island, over to Gordon’s Bay, and way up to the Helderberg.

The tidal pools are open to the public, even if you’re not a restaurant patron,
