Killarney Raceway  Motor Racing Complex, also known as Killarney International Raceway, is a major motor racing facility in Milnerton Rural, Cape Town. The track first opened in 1947 and has since become the heart of motorsport in the Western Cape.

In 1959/60, the circuit was upgraded to meet FIA standards for the 1500 cc Formula One cars of the time. The redesign was handled by Edgar Hoal, a well-known racing driver and road engineer, who also oversaw the construction.

Killarney hosted its first international event, the Cape Grand Prix, on 17 December 1960. The non-championship Formula One race was won by Stirling Moss driving a Porsche. Since then, Killarney has grown into a comprehensive motorsport venue, hosting a wide range of disciplines including:

  • Main circuit racing, Motocross, Karting, Super motards, Stock car racing, Drag racing and  European Truck Racing (as a one-off event)

  • Today, Killarney Raceway remains one of South Africa’s most active motorsport venues. Events take place most Wednesdays and weekends, featuring robot racing, drag racing, and motocross.

Ticket prices vary by event, and for most events, children under 12 enter free.
