Holbaai beach

Surfing on the Atlantic coast

Holbaai Beach is a great surfing venue. It is an exposed beach break that has quite consistent surf. Summer offers the optimum conditions for surfing. The best wind direction is from the east. It tends to receive distant groundswells, and the ideal swell angle is from the southwest. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Rarely crowded here. Dangerous rips are a hazard here, though. Holbaai Beach has a small sand parking area, surrounded by small dunes, surfers and occasionally the Kite Boarders and Windsurfers. It is one of six beaches that are part of the Blaauberg Conservation Area.

Fishing is allowed at this beach. See the illustrated guide to sea fishing

Shells can often be found on this beach, especially after winter storms and low tide. If you plan to collect shells, please follow local regulations and take only empty shells. Shell identification guide
