Herolds Bay Beach
Herolds Bay is a family-friendly beach about 15km from George on the Garden Route. It is popular with holidaymakers over the summer school holidays. There are rock pools, a tidal pool and opportunities for short hikes. Herolds Bay is a small hamlet in a rocky cove.
Forested hills protect the bay from the southeast wind. , The beach sometimes gets crowded. The waves are popular with paddleboarders, body-boarders, and swimmers. If you swim far out you can catch some serious waves with the north or northwest wind. There are usually not a lot of surfers on this beach with a difficulty index of beginner to advanced
Watch out for the strong rip currents near the cliff and rocks. enjoy spectacular sunsets from the beach.
