Hartleyvale stadium
Stadium in Obserbvatory
Hartleyvale Stadium is a field hockey stadium in Observatory. It was previously used as a soccer stadium by the Cape Town City Club. Also by Hellenic during the late 1980s. It is currently a hockey stadium, with smaller fields nearby still used for soccer by local amateur club sides.
By 1972, Hartleyvale was a well-known venue in the city’s football scene. It was named after former mayor Alderman W. Hartley.  Teams from across Cape Town played there, and the ground was a key stop for football talent and spectators.
In the 1990s, it was upgraded to include a modern hockey facility, and today the complex continues to serve as a sports venue.
