Fisherman’s Beach

Beach in Simon's Town

Fisherman’s Beach is a small beach near Boulders, it is nestled between two low rock outcrops. This beach is quite popular, and it does get busy. Access to the beach is easy; however, there is not a lot of parking, and you may have to walk some distance to reach the beach. There is a large sloped lawn backing the shore, which is great for picnics and relaxing. Despite the name, Fisherman’s Beach is not popular with Fishermen. Visitors are mainly families and water-sport enthusiasts who enjoy the protected swimming and slightly warmer waters.

The granite boulders protecting the beach on either end ensure calmer waters, but there are suitable waves for bodyboarders. Snorkelling is also good because the water is usually clean turquoise, with good visibility and plenty to see. There are ablutions available and dogs are allowed on leashes.
