Dunes Beach
Dunes is a popular surfing beach about 12km from Noordhoek Beach. You will need the southeaster to be blowing to catch good waves. The waves here are for advanced surfers. It’s quite a long walk across the beach to get to the best spot. The beach is never very busy, but the crowd size usually depends on the weather.
The Noordhoek wetlands . are behind the dunes where seasonal lagoons are found; this is a biodiversity hotspot that is protected by conservation efforts. The sand is fine and white.
Shells can often be found on this beach, especially after winter storms and low tide. If you plan to collect shells, please follow local regulations and take only empty shells. Shell identification guide
