Clarke’s Bookshop

Clarke’s Bookshop was established in 1956, and it is situated in the centre of Cape Town. We carry new, second-hand, and out-of-print books about southern Africa, and a wide selection of general second-hand books.

Clarkes is housed in a pretty 2-storey Victorian-style building with an intricate wrought-iron balcony; the second story is devoted to second-hand titles; you may even find a rare gem. Or, if you are an avid traveller, take a peek at the admirable collection of maps, some of which date back to the 1600s and all of which are for sale.
