Central beach
Central Beach is Plettenberg bay’s busiest beach. It is the iconic ‘family beach. A wide variety of activities are popular here such as kayaking and whale watching.
Shells can often be found on this beach, especially after winter storms and low tide. If you plan to collect shells, please follow local regulations and take only empty shells. Shell identification guide
There is a marketplace here featuring works by local artisans and craftspeople as well as vendors selling beach essentials.  Opens every day, 10h00 – 18h00, with free admission and free parking available.
There are public ablutions and deck chairs, umbrellas and body-boards are available for rental.
