Akni on Sundays
Taste local culture as authentic as the Bo-Kaap itself.
Akni on Sundays is made by Tauriq. He serves up 2 x 80-litre pots of Akni, and every Sunday, he sets up his street food stall. Under the arches of the Auwal mosque in Wale Street.  Akni is a humble traditional dish consisting of rice, potatoes, lamb, or chicken and a variety of spices. The authentic Halaal dish takes a full day and night to prepare which is a true labour of love. You can buy enough for a family at a very reasonable cost, it is a great place to collect an unusual Sunday take-out.
