Beaches in Hermanus

Hermanus has several clean, scenic beaches along Walker Bay, each offering easy access and different conditions for swimming, walking and viewing marine life. The most popular is Grotto Beach, a long Blue Flag stretch with safe swimming areas, parking and seasonal lifeguards. Voëlklip and Kammabaai are sheltered coves suited to families, while Langbaai is quieter and used mainly by locals. Dogs are allowed in specific areas depending on the season and signage. Facilities vary by beach, but most offer clear pathways, toilets and good visibility of the bay for whale watching in winter and spring. Below is a list of beaches in Hermanus with practical details.
