Bantry Bay on the slopes of Lion’s Head is one of the least windy parts of an otherwise windy city. Bantry Bay was previously called Botany Bay for the botanical garden where medicinal herbs were cultivated in the early colonial days. After WW1 the name was changed to Bantry Bay.
