Castle beach If you want to swim in the sea then Castle Beach is a great beach to visit in Pearly Beach. This Blue flag, white sandy beach is Well equipped, there are ablution facilities and showers at the main parking area for this beach. From the car park there is a wooden walkway that takes you straight to the beach. Dogs are allowed, Lifeguard services are available and the beach is Wheelchair accessible. This is a popular beach that tends to get crowded. Shells can often be found on this beach, especially after winter storms and low tide. The cliff path hiking trail at Hermanus is along one of the town’s most beautiful features. Originally crafted by the Hermanus Botanical Society,it winds its way through the protected Fernkloof Nature Reserve, and meanders for 11 km along the rugged coastline, between the New Harbour to the west, and Piet-se-Bos, just beyond Grotto Beach, to the east. 9 kms of the Hermanus Cliff Path are wheelchair-friendly, including the stretch in front of the Village Square Shopping Centre that stretches from the Marine Hotel to the Village Square. It offers scenic views over Walker Bay and superb whale watching in season..(June to November) It is on the Hermanus cliff path that some of the world’s best land-based whale watching occurs (August/September. Coetzenburg Stadium

Coetzenburg Stadium is a multi-sports venue with a full A-grade athletics track. It is on a portion of the old Coetsenburg Estate which was founded by Dirk Coetsee in 1682 and owned by Stellenbosch University. The stadium is used by both Stellenbosch F.C. and Stellenbosch University. The Coetzenburg is the first Athletics Stadium in South Africa to feature the new state-of-the-art lighting system, which was part of its recent upgrade. The spectator stands accommodate 2900 people and 2100 people can be accommodated on the the embankment. The facility includes nine hockey fields, six cricket fields, nine squash courts, two heated pools, one swimming pool, eight netball courts, fifteen rugby fields with a 17,000-seat stadium and twenty-seven tennis courts. The stadium is wheelchair accessible.

Dolphin Beach off Marine Drive is a 1-kilometre sandy shore. The beach is great for wind and water sports of all kinds, particularly kitesurfing. Swimming, however, is not safe, as conditions can be dangerous. There are no lifeguards on duty. A boat launch and slipway are available for use on this beach. Dolphin Beach also has partial disability access. Dogs on leashes are allowed. There is a paved pathway along the edge of the beach, which is ideal for joggers. There is parking available for about 500 vehicles Shells can often be found on this beach, especially after winter storms and low tide. Durbanville Nature Reserve

Durbanville Nature Reserve comprises endangered Swartland shale renosterveld and Cape Flats sand fynbos. The six-hectare reserve has about 241 plant species, three endemic to Cape Town and six threatened with extinction. The animal species include birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. Birds found here include the Cape sugarbird, the lesser double-collared sunbird and the Cape spurfowl. The small grey mongoose and angulate tortoise, as well as the vulnerable Cape rain frog, can be heard when it rains.. At Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary, we provide a permanent home and loving care to destitute, rescued donkeys. Over the years, we have cared for numerous donkeys at the Sanctuary and rehomed many others in the Western Cape Entrance free, but please support the donkeys with your donations. Garden of Eden The Garden of Eden on the outskirts of Knysna is a perfect place to explore the Tsitsikamma forest. This area is Part of the Harkerville Forest. Take a relaxed stroll that follows over 1km of wooden boardwalks and bridges across streams. These are arranged in two 500 m loops that were built in 1926. The boardwalks are wheelchair friendly. There are a number of wooden benches and tables, water and ablution facilities along the trail. The forest is an example of wet high forest vegetation. Hartenbos beach has a blue flag status. It is near Mossel Bay and is a wide sandy beach that’s perfect for families, swimming, surfing and walking. An added feature is that it offers easy access for wheelchair users with a series of ramps. The other facilities are world-class with clean ablution facilities and lots of parking .. Near the beach are many restaurants, shops and a heated indoor swimming pool. The Hartenbos trail along the beach features marble slabs with extracts from the works of 16 Afrikaans poets from the past century. The poems are about the sea and South Africa’s maritime history. Dogs on leashes can be walked between the river mouth and Little Brak River, excluding the Blue Flag beach between the river mouth and the northern boundary of the parking lot. During the period from 1 February to 30 November, dog owners are allowed to walk their dogs between the hours of 06:00 and 20:00 Shells can often be found on this beach, especially after winter storms and low tide. Kleinmond beach

Kleinmond Beach is an unspoiled Blue Flag beach at the mouth of the Kleinmond Lagoon near Hermanus. The beach is wide and there are excellent walking, jogging opportunities, along with great conditions for water sports. During the winter months from June to November, whales can be spotted from the beach. The Kleinmond Lagoon on the Palmiet River just before it reaches the sea, is great for children. Playing and paddling can be enjoyed in the safe waters. The lagoon is also popular for canoeing. The beach is wheelchair accessible. Lifeguards are on duty from December to March Anglers come to Kleinmond in June for the snoek, which is caught at the harbour. For beach fishing, from the rocks along the shoreline at Sandown Bay, you may get the odd galjoen in season. You could also find sharks (vaalies) about 1km down the Main Beach, but you will need a very good cast for these. The rocks in front of Main Beach are good for galjoen; further along, you may catch streenbras and cob/kabeljou. In November. Cape salmon can be caught from the beach.
