Alpaca Loom and Coffee Shop Hand-weaving of yarn from alpaca wool started three years ago as The Alpaca Loom. Today, the alpaca herd has grown substantially. The fibre is sent for spinning and is then hand-woven or woven on a mechanical loom in small runs on the farm. The Alpaca Loom produces a variety of woven scarves, shawls, blankets, and rugs using the beautiful range of colours that our alpacas produce. Enjoy coffee, cake, and great views. Blue Berry Bar

Blue Berry Bar: Michael and Simon Back were among the first blueberry growers in South Africa. This group’s three blueberry farms are Sonop, Simonsberg, and Greendale. All three farms are placed along the Klapmuts Simondium Road, on the foothills of the Simonsberg mountain. A combination of growing methods is used: some plants are grown in the ground, some in pots, some under shade cloth, and some under poly. All of this is in search of the perfect blueberry. There is also a focus on farming as naturally as possible with traditional pesticides being replaced by natural predator bugs and mushroom sprays. A recent addition to the blueberry farms is the Blueberry Bar, a humble shop, situated on the Sonop property, where you can buy fresh blueberries straight from the farm.
