Cape Town Gem and Mineral Club is also known as the Mineralogical Society of Southern Africa. It is a great place for enthusiasts of mineralogy, geology, and lapidary crafts. Field trips are arranged occasionally. These may take members out on crystal hunting, studying local granites, or investigating the pegmatites of the Northern Cape. Western Province Live Steamers Society is a Non-Profit dedicated to the preservation of railway history and the construction of miniature locomotives Travel on a real miniature steam train!. The society was established in 1980 on the Goodwood Showgrounds and then moved to its present address in 1997. A group of enthusiasts who build working model steam locomotives continue to entertain passengers on the weekends. The track consists of 2 loops, with the outer loop being around 700m and the inner loop about 300m This Society is a Non-Profit dedicated to the preservation of railway history and the construction of miniature locomotives.
